Yesterday, we concluded an exciting second day of #BCNPIT24 🙌 🧬 With Amanada Cano, Prof. Anja Schneider, and Barry Lynch, we discussed the latest advancements and applications of plasma biomarkers for detecting cognitive decline and other neurodegenerative diseases. 👴👵 What mechanisms are involved in the aging process? What factors influence people's longevity? 🤔 Prof. Lefkos Middleton and Dr. Joris Deelen shed light on the impact of aging on neurodegenerative diseases in a panel chaired by Prof. Alfredo Ramirez. 🧠 Following that, Prof. Santos Mañes, Prof. Alfredo Ramirez, and Dr. Manuel Comabella provided insights on the role of #neuroimmunology in the development of Alzheimer's. 📚 Naroa Fraile, winner of the Lluís Tárraga Award, presented her study on the permeability of the blood-brain barrier in medications for treating Alzheimer's disease, a research project conducted during her second year of high school at Escola Camp Joliu. 🆕 After a break to recharge, we attended the first-ever panel dedicated to #neuromodulation therapy in the history of the congress. Prof. Alvaro Pascual-Leone, Prof. Juan C Meléndez, and Dr. Cristina Blanco-Duque spoke about the benefits of this non-pharmacological and non-invasive therapy for treating dementia-associated symptoms. Prof. James Becker chaired a panel on #PET with Prof. Victor L Villemagne and Dr. Juan Domingo Gispert. We learned about multiple advancements in diagnostic testing and the importance of imaging for early detection of cognitive decline. 💡 There are times when Alzheimer's coexists with other brain pathologies. Dr. Marta Marquié, Prof. Margaret Flanagan, and Dr. Ellen Gelpi shed light on this important challenge. 🇪🇺 And finally, we concluded an intense day of the conference with a symposium where researchers Dr, Victoria Fernandez and Andrea Miguel from Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona discussed the GECOBEU project, a European project on genetic counseling aiming to highlight the utility and benefits of genetic testing as a predictive method for neurodegenerative diseases. 🚀 Today is the third and final day of #BCNPIT24

    Gain Therapeutics’ GT-02287 Completely Restores Motor Function in Mouse Models of Parkinson’s Disease This week at the 20th WORLDSymposium, we presented data demonstrating the ability of our clinical candidate GT-02287 to restore motor function in a mouse model of Parkinson’s disease.
