During the offsite, NAVSUP WSS leaders and Blueprint 2.0 team members held team-building exercises and discussed current operations impacting NAVSUP WSS business. This is Jones Middle School at an LOTC district competition. LOTC is a Texas middle school leadership program. This team is marching based on AFPAM 34-1203, AF D&C, but has been poorly trained. At first glance you might not see the problems, but the more you concentrate on their techniques, the more you see they miss the mark. AF armed element or flight D&C procedures are taken from TC 3-21.5 with AF techniques. ℹ️The commander should be at Sling Arms. ℹ️The commander should be using the command "Flight, Halt" and not "Drill Team, Halt". ℹ️Rifle manual is close, but missing certain specifics (e.g., left arm crossover for Order). ℹ️The command to go from one shoulder to another should be given on the right foot to keep the arm swing coordinated with the feet. ℹ️The guidon bearer's technique for going to Present is inaccurate, arms are brought overhead on the command Present. ℹ️Half Step is executed with a heel strike. ℹ️Commander should call Column Left, remain facing the flight while marching in place, and as the center of the formation passes in front, perform a Left Face-in-March and march at Half Step until you call Forward. ℹ️Alignment, spacing, footwork need work. At the dawn of my military career, navigating the realms of leadership and responsibility as a young cadet and soldier, I encountered a pivotal moment that profoundly shaped my perspective on failure and growth. Fresh into my journey, I faced a daunting challenge - a mishap during a combat shooting exercise at a shooting range, which resulted in significant damage and a financial setback of a quarter million euros. The weight of potential job loss or the burden of financial liability loomed over me as I engaged in detailed analyses and discussions about procedures and accountability with my company commander. The moment of truth arrived when I reported the findings of the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to my commander, bracing for the worst. To my astonishment, Captain Prill initiated our conversation with a perspective-shifting statement, “Do you know, Cadet Kuhl, you are the most valuable young leader in my company right now?” His words caught me off guard, sparking confusion and disbelief. He elaborated, “The army has just invested a quarter million euros into your training, experience, and development as a leader. That makes you the most significant asset in my company at this moment.” This revelation marked a turning point for me. Captain Prill’s insight illuminated the invaluable lesson embedded within my mistake - that every failure is a fertile ground for learning and improvement. His belief that the true value of an experience lies not in its immediate success but in the growth and insights it fosters, transformed my approach to leadership and life. Failure, as I learned, is not a setback but an investment in one’s development, a stepping stone to greater achievements and deeper understanding. This experience has stayed with me, a constant reminder that the path to success is paved with the lessons learned from our missteps. It’s a testament to the power of perspective, the importance of supportive leadership, and the transformative potential of viewing challenges as opportunities for growth.

Thrilled to announce my placement at White Birch Armory in Dover, New Hampshire, a renowned establishment in the firearms industry. Over the next six months, I'll dive deep into business management, honing my skills with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). One of the incredible aspects of EOS is how it taps into the skills and mindset cultivated in the military. Traits like discipline, adaptability, and strategic thinking are seamlessly integrated into EOS, allowing veterans to leverage their unique strengths in the business world. Hello again, LinkedIn! It has been a while since my last post on here but rest assured that I am still alive and active. I have been working on redefining and rediscovering myself, identifying who I really am and where I want/need to be professionally. Over the past year I have developed a better understanding of business practices best suited for program execution and capture efforts. Additionally, I have increased my knowledge of business growth, development and strategy. Being on this side of the fence away from actual military service has been an eye opener in the most positive aspect. I stand in awe of the amazing things that companies like ours, Northrop Grumman, do to support our warfighters by providing them with the most technologically advanced equipment to maintain the advantage on the battlefield. For me, I know where I want to be and what I want to do going forward. The skills and experience that I gained during my 20 years of military service, coupled with the professional corporate experience over the past three years, is driving me to want more, to become more than I am now, to be the best that I can to support a company and teammates. Never underestimate what you bring to a company. Do not settle for something less than what you know you deserve.
