20 years… It was not the objective when I joined Accenture Brussels in September 2004. I wanted 2 years experience to define what I wanted to do while working for a global organization that people would easily recognize. There were <50,000 of us.
Here I discovered my passion. From the very first HR Transformation proposal I knew that I wanted to pursue this topic. I always felt that HR got shortchanged when it was not recognized as a key enabler to the organization; considered as a cost center rather than a revenue center. And yet a team that interacts with every single employee.
Here I discovered new places to live, joining our teams in Canada and then in the US.
And more importantly, here I found leaders that taught and supported me; a team that was innovating and leading thoughts; and a company where being wrong but constructive had value. The list would be too long but I cannot resist thanking some key leaders that showed me a path: Fernand Dimidschstein, Jean-Marc Boxus, Jürgen Jürss, Rodney Bergman, Janet Krstevski, David Gartside, David Shaw, Christopher Chu, John Goodyer, Stacy Blanchard, Melanie Douglas, Shulagna Dasgupta, Kelly Shimizu, Yaarit Silverstone, Nicholas Campbell, Michael Benyamin, Travis Hooper, Shammak Banerjee.
So 20 years of learnings and growth thanks to our clients and our teams…. Here is to some more.
