Our 2024 Intern class took part in the New York Nareit Conference to kick off REITweek and gain a better understanding of the industry with nearly 100 REIT management teams presenting throughout the conference, including our own Ken Bernstein. Hear more about it below with remarks from one of our returning interns. “Having the opportunity to return for a second year to experience NAREIT has given me the ability to better understand the multifaceted elements that go into building a successful REIT. Whether it was discussing how real estate will adapt alongside an omni-channel world or learning how different REITs are each individually unique in such a saturated market, I truly feel as though I have been able to immerse myself in the industry and further my knowledge as a curious intern. Thank you, Acadia!” ~Mackenzie Teper Marketing Intern ’23, ‘24

@ NCU students, you know firsthand from professors like Neely Tamminga & Mark Skeba how valuable hands-on learning is. If you're looking for more ways to engage this summer, check out Roundpeg's summer internship!
See Dani? She's the one at the whiteboard working with the CEO of a NYC-based fintech that's experiencing remarkable growth. Around this time two years ago, Dani was applying for a Summer internship with Roundpeg. We're so glad. Dani embodies everything it means to be what we call a "Roundpegger." Full of wonder. Growth mindset. Wise beyond her years. Learn what it means to be a Roundpeg (and more) as a Summer 2024 intern: https://lnkd.in/g4YByYnF ("No squareholes" please) #changeagents #brandstrategy #consumerinsights #summerinternship

Delighted to introduce Moritz Setzer, the newest member of our dynamic team at IEG - INVESTMENT BANKING GROUP! 🤝 Join us in giving him a hearty welcome as he embarks on his journey as an Investment Banking Intern. Below are a few questions for Moritz Setzer: What do you expect from your internship at IEG? 🤔 I joined IEG because of its reputation in the tech M&A sector and the opportunity to work on complex financial transactions with a talented team. Why did you join IEG? 🤗 What excites me most about M&A is the opportunity to support companies in strategic transformations and growth. It's fascinating to see how different firms come together and create synergies that can generate long-term value. What excites you most about M&A? 🤩 M&A is particularly interesting for me because you act as an interface. You look at both sides of the company, buying or selling, and deal with the balance between the two daily. #Internship #InvestmentBanking #Team #TeamIntroduction

Today, at the Hilton Top Solicitors Female Virtual Internship/Mentorship Program hosted by Deborah Enyone Oni (LLB. BL. LLM. NIM), I learnt about "Product Innovation and Iteration" from our speaker, Adekanbi Oluwaseun. A product, whether tangible or intangible, fulfills consumer needs or desires and is managed through Product Management, which involves researching, planning, building, releasing, and optimizing products for user benefit. Essentially, having a good product is vital for a better life, as knowledge of product management is applicable in various aspects. Product Innovation involves developing new or significantly improved products to meet evolving customer needs, technology, or market trends, while Product Iteration focuses on making incremental improvements based on feedback, data analysis, and market conditions. Innovation entails transformative changes, whereas iteration involves incremental adjustments. Essentially, innovation drives substantial transformations and introduces fresh concepts, whereas iteration concentrates on improving and optimizing current products using feedback and market observations. Both are essential in product development to guarantee products stay relevant, competitive, and in line with customer requirements and market dynamics. #emergingtech #womenempowerment #internship #mentorship #DeborahEnyoneOni

And just like that our 2023/24 Summer Internship comes to end! Over the last 3 months Alana Chhour, Chloe Lo & Ryan Richards have been part of our Investment Solutions team, updated sector collateral, managed our Investment Enquiries Inbox, actively participated in a range of L&D opportunities, including L&D week, and had a great time building their networks and connections within the wider NZTE whānau. I asked them what their highlight & key learning was during their time with us and here's what they had to say - there are a few nice reminders in there for us all [🙂] Highlight: Chloe - Working with all the Investment Managers and Analysts, gaining different insights from them, having training experiences on different topics. Alana - L&D week organised by the Solutions team was a great way to come together and collaboratively learn from others on various topics. Ryan - All of the learning opportunities given to us throughout, including the trainings from the analysts when we started, the coffees and kōrero with the wider Investment team, and L&D week. Key learning: Chloe - Don't be afraid to ask questions, it's better to always ask than to realize you are wrong after you finish! Alana - Get amongst everyone and talk to as many people at NZTE as you can. They all have lots of unique and interesting experiences, skills and learnings they can teach you. Ryan - Ask as many questions as possible and don't be afraid to challenge ideas and give your insights on topics. We wish you all the best Alana, Ryan & Chloe!
