When the elite of car body builders meet at the SAE Brazil CarBody Symposium in Sao Paulo, it is clear that we are there. The symposium is regarded as the most important forum for technical discussions on design details and manufacturing features. This is where automotive projects are presented and evaluated by the professional audience. At our own booth, our BENTELER experts met customers and interested parties and exchanged ideas. The focus was on our mission: Making mobility lighter, safer and more sustainable. The event also provided an excellent opportunity to present our portfolio in the field of e-mobility. Our battery tray was particularly eye-catching, but other innovative products and technologies were also presented. Another highlight was the inspiring presentation by Dr. Jessica Santana, one of our engineers, entitled "Battery Storage Systems Solutions". She emphasized after the presentation, "The interest among our customers and other stakeholders was overwhelming. We were able to impressively demonstrate our expertise in forming and welding metal." 🎓 Project Overview: As part of my academic journey at Motorvehicle University of Emilia Romagna (MUNER), we embarked on the exciting task of optimizing a Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) internal combustion engine for a Formula One hybrid car while adhering to the stringent regulations set by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). 🔍 Propulsion System Characteristics and Commitment-Framework: Exploring the intricacies of F1 regulations and constraints laid down by the FIA formed the cornerstone of our project's framework. Setting clear design objectives and parameters ensured alignment with the rigorous standards of F1 engineering. 🛠️ Design Development: Crafting a meticulous development roadmap guided our progress through various stages. Engine characterization and in-depth study of parameters were pivotal in shaping our design decisions. Defining strategies backed by thorough simulations enabled us to navigate the complexities of optimization effectively. 📊 Engine Performance, Results, and Comments: Through rigorous experimentation and analysis, we attained insights into the engine's performance. The culmination of our efforts yielded promising results, accompanied by insightful commentary on our findings. 🔮 Conclusion and Future Works: In conclusion, this project exemplifies our dedication to pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering within the confines of F1 regulations.
