M-Works Search Engineering Video Friday. How automotive manufacturing has changed! This Ford video provides a glimpse of how automotive assembly has changed over the course of the last 100 years. In the early 1900โs, we see early automotive assembly at Fordโs Piquette plant which produced the Model T. We then see Fordโs Highland Park plant which operated until 1974. Fast forward to the Wayne plant to see modern Ford Focus assembly and to Wixom where the Lincoln Continental was made. Itโs amazing how automobiles and automotive manufacturing have changed since Henry Ford brought us the automotive assembly line. No doubt that change will continue as the automotive industry evolves and adapts new technologies. https://buff.ly/48vYpYU M-Works Search-Working to identify the best manufacturing professionalsยฎ

In our new series People@ACPS Automotive, we would like to take you behind the scenes and introduce you to people who give their best for our customers every day. Today we get to know Istvรกn Csรกnyi, IAM Design & Development engineer at Kecskemรฉt (Hungary), our largest plant. 1. Istvรกn, what do you do at ACPS Automotive? "I am a Research & Development engineer at the Aftermarket department. I am responsible for towbars in retrofitting mostly for vehicles from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis and the new European market arrivals from China โ e.g. Great Wall Motors and BYD. I take care of CAD designing, implementing fitting tests, documenting projects and initial checking of first series products." 2. What does your typical working day look like? "Every day is different in its own way. In the morning I check the current status of my running projects. Depending on the priorities I sometimes have to organize new fitting tests or to look after running fatigue tests for my prototypes. In order to dive into the 3D modelling and drawing creation I put on my headphones and play some music. Afterwards I focus on projects documentation and look for more information about upcoming vehicles. I really like the exchange with my colleagues during lunch time." 3. What do you enjoy most about your job? "My job is exciting and amazing. There is always something to do โ or to do better. I have chosen this job because I really like technology and vehicles. CAD modelling and solving complex engineering problems is exactly what I love to do." 4. What do you do in your free time? "I like to do sports as I think this is really important if you have an office job. And I like to play chess and competitive online games. I enjoy learning about technology and foreign languages and other cultures. One of my newest hobbies is to brew craft beer with my friends and we are starting to get quite successful in it. Since we would like to evolve, we often hang out in a local craft beer bar to experience new flavors." 5. Three words that you associate with ACPS Automotive? "Reliable products, friendly community and exciting tasks to solve." #ACPS #ACPSAutomotive #Automotive #ORIS #Engineering #Kecskemรฉt #Hungary

Accelerating vehicle engineering from concept to road in 24 months โ ET Auto OEMs often outsource projects that donโt fit neatly into their existing frameworks, such as supercars or groundbreaking innovations. New Delhi: Two years, 24 months. The ambition is clear: engineer a new vehicle from sketch to job 1 within 24 months. You might be thinking, โThatโs absurd,โ or perhaps, โWhy not?โ Your reaction likely stems from https://lnkd.in/gEedwQ2b

Assembly lines are THE way to do mass production. Yet, with constant regularity people try out to undo the assembly line, only to fail in their endeavor. In my previous post I looked at examples by Volkswagen in Salzgitter, Volvo in Kalmar, and Opel in Bochum, who all tried, just to switch back to an assembly line afterwards. This second post in this series has more historical examples of when people tried and failed to undo assembly lines in mass production. #allaboutlean #operationalexcellence #leanmanufacturing #leansixsigma

Automotive development impacted by giga casting The need for increased sustainability in automotive manufacturing is driving casting innovations. Giga casting is a new technology that has the potential to revolutionize the automotive industry. It involves creating large cast parts in a single piece, which can disrupt traditional automotive manufacturing and force fundamental change across the industry(1). The benefits of giga casting include part count reduction, which allows cars to be manufactured that are lighter, increasing sustainability through reduced material usage and fuel needed(1).ย This part count reduction also allows increased flexibility in certain aspects of vehicle platform engineering(1).ย Giga casting has created the opportunity for a fundamental paradigm shift in automotive manufacturing, providing manufacturers and engineers with the opportunity to make massive changes to supply chains and production (1). However, there are also key challenges.ย To adopt giga casting production, there are substantial space challenges and investment requirements for factories and foundries(1).ย Compared to traditional sheet metal shell construction, it may not always be effective for certain facilities and vehicle models to adopt giga casting (1). The cost and investment required in adopting giga casting are massive.ย For OEMs currently using traditional automotive manufacturing methods, investment in giga casting technology may not make immediate financial sense (1). Despite these challenges, giga casting is gaining momentum in the automotive industry, offering various advantages such as improved car body stiffness, reduced manufacturing cost, and decreased assembly time and cost (2).ย Toyota recently unveiled a prototype of its gigacasting equipment, capable of producing a third of a vehicle chassis in just three minutes (2). Tesla is also under developments of new model with this technology. As a casting company following the market needs, we are glad to inform you that Seojin is deploying this new technology of Giga casting which creates vehicles & supply chains that are less complicated, more cost effective, more sustainable and faster to produce. In conclusion, giga casting is a promising technology that has the potential to revolutionize the automotive industry.ย While there are challenges to overcome, the benefits of giga casting are significant and could lead to a more sustainable future for the automotive industry (1). ============================================== Seojin deploy this technology of giga/mega casting. Your business can take advantage of the competitive costs of Vietnam. Let's organize a video conference call to present you all the activities of our company #Seojin located in Hanoi / Vietnam.
