Chickens! We recently sequenced novel and functional antibodies directly from polyclonal antibodies derived from chickens using de novo polyclonal antibody sequencing. Our clients allowed us to publish a case study, so read on. Chickens are an interesting host species for antibody research; however, conventional antibody discovery technologies have often proven inaccessible in this context. Our case study sheds light on the innovative methods we employed to accelerate early discovery and development, culminating in the identification of candidates boasting optimal therapeutic characteristics. A new issue of our society’s official journal, Antibody Therapeutics (2022 CiteScore: 6.4), was just launched yesterday. Currently, this new issue has three new articles available with the following titles. 1) AB-Amy: machine learning aided amyloidogenic risk prediction of therapeutic antibody light chains. 2) A mammalian cell display platform based on scFab transposition. 3) Efficient production of bispecific antibodies—optimization of transfection strategy leads to high-level stable cell line generation of a Fabs-in-tandem immunoglobin.
