Throwback to our first awards' night together ♡ Why 𝑷𝑳𝑼𝑺? It's simply about encouraging everyone to be a 𝑷𝑳𝑼𝑺 to the environment. It's easy to feel that your current job environment isn't giving you enough. It's healthier to consider what more you can give to the environment. Recently, a candidate asked me what it takes to be on the PLUS team. I replied, 'I'll take you under three conditions that you must agree to.' These conditions are 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 to each candidate. 1. For the amount of grievances you have now, I hope you'll maintain the same level of gratitude when you succeed. 2. Allow me to remind you each time defensiveness surfaces, just for a year. Allowing me to remind you means you actually recognize and accept it. 3. Complete your homework. Guess which one he said was the hardest? What would be the hardest for you? Are you able to tell which values I am focusing on? If you share the same values and are passionate about making a meaningful impact, I warmly invite you to join our team and contribute to the 𝑷𝑳𝑼𝑺 vision. 💪🏻

Many students don't see themselves as "scholarship material". Despite the fact that scholarship funders are creating scholarships *specifically for them* they still don't believe scholarships are possible. It used to be true that #scholarships were only for top students. That's because it was only universities that offered scholarships, and they went after top students. But in 2024, there are many different kinds of scholarship funders besides universities. There are foundations, community groups, cultural groups, employers, unions, insurance companies, and many more. Heck, there's even a hot tub cover manufacturer that offers a scholarship! Each one of these funders offers the scholarship based on what's important to them. They are donating the money so they get to determine who it is for. And for many external funders (meaning those that are not universities) they value community involvement more than grades. So grades may be required but they may not be the most important thing. For some funders, grades are not even required! Because there is a variety of funders, now there are different kinds of #scholarships for different kinds of students. That's why it's so important for funders to create ads like this to encourage different kinds of students, especially underrepresented students, to apply. More students need to hear that there has never been a better time in history for them to win scholarships.

BTE ALERT / Best Team Ever Alert Recognition for March Calling out the Best of the Best As previously noted, I will continue to celebrate members of my team monthly that deserve the distinction of the Best of the Best. As previously noted, this is a tough task given the talent that resides in my organization…You don’t call your team the Best Team Ever without that team containing some serious talent. And as previously noted, it’s the acts of these individuals in 3 categories that allow them to be called out by my management team. So for March… All Star Performers: While my organization may post great numbers, these individuals posted numbers in March that made headlines internally. They beat expectations and caused my management team to take note of their performance. Michael Griesser Jessica Geinoski Jacob Tavenier Teamwork Award: I am lucky enough to lead a team that realizes that for themselves to be successful, you want the group you work with, the eco-system you work with, the company you work for to be successful. Sometimes and most times, that takes a village. The people below care enough about that village that they demonstrate it profoundly. It’s one of the traits we cherish at TDSynnex, knowing that your own success comes easier when they devote effort to make the team Successful. Koby Franklin Brooke Pannal The Damon Mim’s Award: One extra email, one extra call, one extra piece of effort is sometimes what it takes to make that distinction between being good and being better than good. We named this award after one of TDSynnex’s own that we lost un-expectedly who displayed this trait every day. It’s that extra effort, that going the extra mile that we celebrate with this distinction. Paul Madison Jonathan De Guzman Again, thank you to these co-workers for the traits they displayed in March. Having a high performer taught me that 'years of experience' is a terrible measure of performance. I was leading a large People Ops team, and it was clear this person was exceptional. Every challenge they took on, they crushed it. We were coming up to promotion time and it was apparent this person sat 3 levels above where they were titled (and paid). I was uncomfortable. They had so few years of experience by traditional standards. So I asked my boss. He was uncomfortable too. He said "two levels is a big jump...". I agreed, but at the back of my mind, I knew I had no way to justify not putting this person to the level they were operating at. So I did. And it was the best move I've ever made. They were thrilled. They knew they were good, and this was the recognition that certified it. They went on to deliver some of the most critical work from our team. Which reflected well on me, too. It became apparent later I would have never kept this person if I didn't focus on the results, and ignore the 'years of experience'. Great talent doesn't respect 'years experience', so why should you?
