"Investing in journalism requires tangible evidence of impact," underscores the Journalism Funders Forum, highlighting "the need for donors to evaluate their investments in media and journalism programmes thoroughly." Here at the Media Development Investment Fund, we couldn't agree more! Pluralis Impact Dashboard, mentioned as an example of journalism impact assessment, developed in collaboration with the Media and Journalism Research Center (MJRC), is just one of the ways we are committed to this endeavor. Measuring the impact of journalism is a critical part of our work of investing and supporting media. In fact, since 2005, we have published our Media Development Impact Dashboard and remain dedicated to demonstrating the value of media. In today’s complex media landscape, understanding the impact of journalism is more crucial than ever! #mediadev #journalismimpact

The crisis facing journalism is a crisis for democracy. We believe it matters who tells the story, and so supporting journalists who come from the communities they serve - whether they are specific neighborhoods or communities connected by immigrant experience, culture or language - is a way to reinvigorate journalism and strengthen representative democracy.
Today a coalition of public media organizations published "Public Media and the Future of Local Journalism." This position paper, endorsed by more than 120 leaders across public media, presents a shared vision for the role public media can play in the future of local news and provides specific action items to face the growing information crisis. So proud of this work!!! h/t Leora Hanser Melanie McCarty https://lnkd.in/eeactP4Z
