🚁🦅 Military Aircrafts Endangered by Bird Strikes 🚁🦅 🚨 It's great to see The Independent highlighting this issue. Bird strikes are a very real risk for the Royal Air Force (RAF) and any other aircrafts, and need to be taken seriously by all concerned. 🔊 Bio-acoustic technology is one of the humane methods that could be used to deter Red Kites from the area and help to address this problem - perhaps something for the RAF to consider? 🔗 Read the full article here: https://bit.ly/3RtAkgM #AviationSafety #BirdStrikes #MilitaryAircraft #RoyalAirForce #SaferSkies #SustainableSolutions

For some wildlife, disturbances caused by military training activities are actually key to survival. The rare eastern regal fritillary butterfly is found only at Fort Indiantown Gap in Pennsylvania, which is home to one of the largest expanses of native warm-season grasslands in the Northeastern U.S. This habitat requires periodic disturbance, at the right time and intensity, to keep the butterfly going strong. https://ow.ly/vO6u50R9xR7

WG™ team is proud to welcome EBE - dry bulk to The League Of @whaleguardians . We are positive that through this partnership we will save critical whale lives from vessel strikes. Unintended vessel strikes are the leading cause of death for some species of great whales, even pushing them to the brink of extinction. Unfortunately with the global vessel fleet expanding the areas where vessel routes cross over critical whale habitat is ever growing, leading to a higher rate of unintended whale deaths each year. @whaleguardians has carefully crafted a plan of rerouting for ships across the globe in a manner that adds minimal time and distance to the vessel routes while saving the maximum number of whale lives. We urge other industries to follow EBE’s example and take this critical step towards preventing your vessels from committing any unintended strikes in the future. #savegreatwhales #whaleguardians #jointheleague #greatwhaleconservancy #whalefacts #bluewhales #greatwhales #stopshipstrikes #shipstrikes #endangeredspecies #criticallyendangered #globalshipping #whaleconservation #oceanconservation

Nature give us an example of #asymmetric #warfare where the attacker must evaluate risky strategies with high costs to themselves is the use of suicide bombings by insurgent groups against conventional military forces in conflict zones. In such scenarios, the attacker, typically a non-state actor, employs tactics that result in high casualties among both military personnel and civilians, often using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) or vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) to target military convoys, checkpoints, or civilian gatherings. This strategy poses significant risks and costs to the attacker, including the loss of operatives, resources, and potential backlash from the targeted population or international community. However, the goal is to inflict disproportionate damage and psychological impact on the adversary, undermining their morale and ability to maintain control over the territory. Despite the inherent risks and costs, suicide bombings have been used effectively by insurgent groups in conflicts such as #Somalia and the ongoing conflict in #Sahel, where they have contributed to destabilizing conventional military operations and shaping the political narrative in favor of the insurgents.

Ok, I haven't tried this, this is not #legal advice, and/or something I encourage, but the #government has a guide on how to ‘#obliterate’ #horse #carcasses with #explosives. A #USForestService guide to clearing potential #bear-bait has become a classic in the #military #bomb #tech #community. The article below provides more details and a link to guide. https://lnkd.in/gF7SWbK5

Helping the world understand wildfire resilience, prevention, and mitigation || Wildfire chemicals || Wildfire prevention technologies || Aerial firefighting & fleet development
I am so excited to see these assets finally being deployed. The unfortunate reality is that they were needed and would have been most effective when these fires were just being reported. Follow up on the ground is so important, so it's also wonderful to see the firefighters there in the background of the video. Moving forward it's critical that state and federal legislators and agencies really understand when and where aircraft can be effective. The name of the game for agencies in wildfire is RAPID INITIAL ATTACK. The name of the game for home and property owners is BE PROACTIVE, LIVE FIREWISE. If we do this together, the fire service can concentrate on perimeter control, versus structure protection. When fires are this large, suppression resources are spread thin, often to a point of ineffectiveness. Every minute counts.
