There should be no more talk of the three tier system, the "three channel system" is already here and functioning in some states, as an industry, we need to embrace this, educate legislators that it can and does work effectively. It is not an either or, but an inclusive distribution system that helps producers, consumers, warehouses, and retailers. It works in all other industries, it can and does work for the beverage alcohol market as well. Stop the three-tier talk. #dtc #selfdistribution #directtotrade #directtoconsumer #saleschannels #complianceservices #regulatorycompliance #regulatory #competition #levelplayingfield #beverageindustry #beverageinnovation #alcoholicbeverages Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau

Three Channels > Three Tier. The best thing the wine industry can do right now to counter a declining market is to modernize the laws that define it. #directsales

The IWSR have released some very eye opening data and insights this month all about the shift in UK drinking habits and the future for no and low alcohol beverages... "IWSR data shows that excise duty changes and a trend to moderation are prompting a shift towards lower ABV drinks in the UK. Total beverage alcohol (TBA) volumes in the UK declined by -2% between 2022 and 2023, capping a period of recent decline for the industry (2018-2023 volumes falling at a CAGR of -1%). Growth rates of the no- and low-alcohol segment outperformed the overall UK TBA market, partly driven by the ongoing consumer trend for moderation as well as excise duty changes. The overall no/low-alcohol segment showed volume growth of 47%, 2022 to 2023, with forecast volume CAGR of 19%, 2023 to 2028. The no/low-alcohol segment is expected to add incremental value of £0.8bn by 2028. Low-alcohol volume sales almost doubled in 2023 and IWSR expects considerable growth over the next few years, particularly driven by low-alcohol beer. Many beer and wine brands are lowering their alcohol content (ABV) to take advantage of the UK’s new excise duty regime, although this is poised to bring renewed challenges for wine in particular when more changes are introduced during 2025." https://lnkd.in/dtg-FDEx

Why a beverage alcohol distributor launched a 3PL Ankaa Global Logistics caters its services to suppliers working with parent company Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits or other wholesalers. Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits announced Nov. 8 that it launched a subsidiary called Ankaa Global Logistics, a third-party logistics provider offering services such as temperature-controlled inventory storage, repacking and labeling for beverage alcohol suppliers. Many of Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits 1,700-plus suppliers are international companies that want to avoid managing their own U.S. warehouses but have extensive storage needs, Bobby B. SVP and chief supply chain officer at Southern Glazer’s, said in an interview. They typically contract out those operations to 3PLs, which then aggregate suppliers’ products before shipment to a wholesaler. https://lnkd.in/gB6TS89Y #3PL #beverage #alcohol #logistics #expertise #synergy #efficiency #ThirdPartyLogistics
