The Run is Still on at BREIT. BREIT announced today that its redemption requests for May were greater than 2% and for April and May were 4.4%. Nonetheless, BREIT is honoring those requests. This demonstrates how BREIT's refusal to honor redemptions for 18 months had nothing to do with forced asset sales or with a 2%/5% rule. Apparently, as Bill Murray said to Sigourney Weaver in Ghostbusters, "it's more of a guideline than a rule." With only 0.6% left in the 5% quarterly cap, BREIT will either blow through the 5% redemptions this quarter or once again limit redemptions. Either way, the run that started 18 months ago is still on. https://lnkd.in/ePQ-zXZh

💎👐🐒 Financial Literacy Enthusiast - Director of Content & Innovation at Walter the Vault - Aspiring Activist Investor
There is a proposal on November 3rd for PUBLICALLY TRADED COMPANIES TO BECOME "TOO BIG TO FAIL" - NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO. OUR TAX MONEY WOULD BE SPENT ON BAILING THEM OUT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Top US Regluators are discussing the "To Big To Fail" label next week - and talk about giving the label to firms other than banks FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY. If CITADEL gets this label, they will be bailed out no matter what. We will be paying for them to rob us!!! We need to stop this from happening! Ken Griffin has been trying to get this to pass since 2008. They are trying to sneak this by! We need to make our voices heard on November 3rd. #gamestop #amc #gme #bbby #stockmarket #economy #financial #finance #sec #america #stocks #financeandeconomy #financialliteracy #money #usa #federalreserve #fed #invest #charlespayne #johnstewart #danecook #kennyg David Lauer Marcel Kalinovic Houston Wade Kirscha Kievits-Smeulders Deven Savage Ryanne M. For those with a fascination for financial campanology, here's a new series of posts from Exchange Invest!
Let’s talk campanology. Nowadays one of the most widely recognised financial rituals across the globe is the twice-daily ringing of the bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Actually, it wasn’t always thus, originally, the NYSE had a Chinese gong which was replaced when the exchange moved its Wall Street HQ in 1903. The G. S. Edwards Company of Norwalk, Connecticut, produced the original bell and has even produced replicas in recent decades to support the daily market open and close. The brass bell measures 18 inches (45 cm) in diameter. A larger 27-inch bell had to be retired in the early 20th century as it was simply too loud, despite the din of trading on the close! Prior to the gong, the President of NYSE oversaw the trading process with a gavel, similar to those used by auctioneers around the world to this day. Where the open is nowadays marked by the bell at 0930, the NYSE closing bell rings at 4 p.m. and is followed by three raps of the gavel on the sounding block to wrap the trading day where liquidity began in Southeast Asia and has followed the orbit of the sun to Manhattan. #NYSEbell #BellRingers #ExchangeHistory
