This is one of the questions posed in my talk on #SOE, this coming Friday 19th April '24, at the National Army Museum The discussion will focus on resilience using SOE as an example, also asking listeners to consider ‘How does one create dilemmas for the adversary faster than they can resolve them?’   Further, looking at great power competition, which is especially relevant today, I hope my talk will remind us that we then, and perhaps should now, use a variety of different tools and capabilities to create challenges for the adversary to strengthen the relationship between integrated action and influence effects.  I offer what I hope will be useful snippets of wisdom from history that can, are, and arguably should be used to shape today's clandestine war fighting operations.
