The creation economy is getting boost. Big boost I would say. Sony has presented last week at #CES2024 a new mixed reality headset and controller system, that is NOT oriented to consumers. At the opposite, its development is strategically oriented towards #creators. As Sony stated at its press conference presenting its new system, “Sony empowers creators to do more, explore more, and create more by providing innovative technologies for storytelling, entertainment, and beyond, and enables new ways to fill the world with emotion”. (See below in the Sony's CES2024 Home) This statement comes after the first-ever Sony Creators Conference that was held in Los Angeles last August, during which Hiroaki Kitano, Senior Executive Vice President and CTO of Sony, said, "At Sony, we want to work with creators to develop the next generation of technology that will move entertainment forward, which we believe is an essential part of our #civilization. I'm excited to launch our conference to showcase our commitment to empowering creators, whether it be #artists, #innovators, #engineers, or #scientists.” Cristal clear words to say that they want to position Sony’s brand at the intersection of technology and #creativity. To be more practical, this means that Sony will actively work to develop devices and software that its hundreds of millions of users will use to become and LIVE as #creators. Full stop. So dear brands’ leaders, I repeat once again, the backbone of the "Future" will be the #CreationEconomy. In such a "Future", technology, economy and #culture will intersect in a totally different way than in the “Present". It's an intersection where #creativity will be the driving force of brands audience #engagement. It will be a "Future" in which successful brands will not be those that sell products nor experiences to #consumers, but will be those that help creators to create successful products and experiences. CES - The Most Powerful Tech Event in the World CES® 2024 kicks off in Las Vegas next week, offering consumers a glimpse of new technology and prototypes for the products of the future. The Consumer Technology Association, which owns and produces the consumer technology trade show, expects 130,000 attendees and more than 4,000 exhibitors. It’s a jump from last year’s 115,000 attendees and 3,200-plus exhibitors but still below pre-pandemic levels. After a “challenging year globally,” CTA President and CEO Gary Shapiro said, he hopes attendees walk away from this year’s trade show with optimism for the new year.
