Coming from a #healthcare background I've noticed an area for #improvement as a #productmanager that can significantly #enhance patient #satisfaction: FLEXIBLE follow-up appointments. --> Current Scenario: Visited an eye specialist for an infection; and was advised to follow up after 30 days, but the free follow-up period was only valid for 7 days. Consulted a gynecologist for UTI symptoms; and was advised to come back in 10 days, but the free follow-up window was only 7 days. --> Proposed Improvement: Allow the next follow-up to be free based on the doctor's suggested timeframe rather than a rigid period. Specifically, after a doctor sets a follow-up date, enable a 7-10 day window from that date for the free follow-up. --> Additional Concern: Even when doctors advise a follow-up within the mentioned timeframe, the flexibility to choose a suitable slot becomes restricted, making it challenging for patients to comply with the doctor's recommendation. --> Why This Matters: 1. Enhances patient experience by aligning follow-up windows with medical advice. 2. Provides patients the flexibility to choose a convenient slot within the suggested timeframe. 3. Ensures patients receive timely care without the burden of additional costs. 4. Encourages adherence to medical advice, potentially improving health outcomes. By making these small adjustments, we can create a more patient-centric healthcare system that truly benefits those we aim to serve. Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments! #Heathcare #PatientExperience #MedicalCare #CustomerSatisfaction #productmanagement.

Did you know? Strategic intervention scheduling is vital to reduce complications and prevent readmissions. Early risk assessment significantly lowers rates, especially as most readmissions occur within the first-week post-discharge. Notably, 17.5% of home health patients return to hospitals within 30 days, and 52% of wound care patients face hospitalization risks. Proactive intervention is essential for patient safety. Archangel's dedication to early risk assessment in home health wound care is pivotal. By minimizing rehospitalizations and complications, we empower patients to fearlessly embrace life once more.

Millions of people in the UK suffer from chronic wounds, and billions are spent on treating these annually. The PRSB’s Wound Care Information Standard, which has just been awarded an ISN, will help reduce pain and suffering, and improve the efficiency of wound care services by consistent sharing of information. The standard covers the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, ongoing care and prevention of the wounds across all health and care settings for three areas of wound care: lower limb (leg and foot) wounds, pressure ulcers and surgical wound complications. The ISN means that the implementation and use of the standard will be required in some healthcare settings. The NWCSP Surgical Wound Complications recommendations are designed to provide clear advice to health and care practitioners, service managers and commissioners about the fundamentals of evidence-informed care for people with surgical wound complications. They are intended for use in all clinical care settings and aim to support implementation of evidence-based clinical practice in the treatment of surgical wounds. It has been estimated that approximately a fifth of surgical wounds fail to heal within 12 months, leading to considerable patient suffering and NHS cost. Current guidelines state that all patients at risk of pressure ulcers should be repositioned, unless otherwise contraindicated, following an individualised schedule (EPUAP, 2019; NICE, 2014). Maintaining a comfortable position is an important factor contributing to patient concordance, with some not tolerating the recommended 30-degrees. Ekamove can be programmed to deliver individualised care, including different tilt angles and positioning times for left, right and supine (neutral). For example: Left side 30° with a positioning time of 2 hours, supine position 30 minutes, and right side 10° with a positioning time of 20 minutes. Medical errors" are real, happen frequently and are fast becoming one of the leading causes of death. Shockingly, global statistics show that 1 in 10 people experience harm during hospitalization, while 4 in 10 face harm during outpatient care. Most common medical harm is caused by missed or wrong diagnosis, medication errors, surgical procedures, hospital-acquired and home infections, unsafe transfusion and injection practices etc. The good news is that at least 50% of this harm can be prevented if you are alert and play an active role in the process.
