I have finished reading every single report/outlook on macro-economics and cryptocurrencies on these two lists (so I suppose you don't have to?). Props to Marc Baumann and Eddie Donmez for providing them. https://lnkd.in/eQ84E3ku https://lnkd.in/em-BYD-b Here are my key thoughts. I note that the fate of the wider crypto markets are intrinsically linked to the price of BTC. Hence, the outlook on BTC is inevitably an indication of how the other crypto assets will perform (statistically proven). The outlook for BTC is bullish, due to the Spot ETFs demonstrating institutional and mainstream adoption. In addition, my fundamental thesis that BTC will continue to rise over the long-term due to its fixed supply remains, and is further accelerated due to the expected halving in Q1 2024. Large institutional capital swallowing up substantial amounts of actual BTC will only serve to reinforce the limited supply/higher price phenomenon. I continue to see use cases for BTC and other crypto assets, but believe that “number go up” continues to be the predominant driver of growth in the limited supply alternative asset. I also believe that a lot of the crypto grifters have been caught and eliminated (FTX, MTI, Africrypt) and that their negative impacts are behind us. In any new industry, conmen and grifters appear early-on but their predatory/illicit strategies - which dampen the price growth, interest and trust in the industry - are by definition only profitable in the short-term. I believe that we are now moving into the morally sound longer term. Since a majority of macro-analysts expect at least lukewarm growth in the global economy, the baseline expectation is that risk assets such as crypto will fare better in 2024. BTC and other crypto assets demonstrably function as risk assets, and they are typically shunned during recessionary periods. No recession, no dumping of cryptocurrencies. Growth expectations in BTC and other crypto assets translates into a positive outlook for our crypto trading, as a bullish crypto market is usually accompanied with higher trading volumes and increased liquidity on exchanges, positively benefiting our ability to swiftly and reliably execute trades on the cryptocurrency exchanges. I note that public interest and BTC growth is fundamentally correlated. When I was younger, I ran a time series analysis that demonstrated that the more people Googled “BTC”, the higher the price went up! I did not know it at the time, but this was essentially a type of sentiment analysis. In conclusion, I believe the expected growth in the crypto markets in 2024 positively serves the ability to market crypto funds or ventures, and attract fresh capital.
