📢📢 And the "Startup of the Week" is... AGUA DE SOL! Founded in France, AGUA DE SOL was established by Philippe DEKONINCK with the support of Luc Métivier and Harold Ousset. The startup transforms air into water using solar heat, thanks to a simple panel called the SunAir Fountain. These panels can be installed in small or large numbers depending on water needs, especially in places where people and organizations face water scarcity or quality issues.   🎙️ What have been your key milestones recently? We have successfully signed more than 10 contracts, welcomed 3 business angels as investors, started raising funds, and prepared for industrial production. Additionally, we have gained a deeper understanding of the diverse water needs in cities, both large and small, particularly for green spaces.   🎙️How did the idea for this project come about? Aqua de Sol was founded in 2019 by Philippe Dekoninck, an expert in the field of air and gas drying, who played a significant role in projects such as the wind tunnel at the Toulouse Aeronautical Test Center. His expertise and experience inspired the SunAir Fountain®, which is not designed to provide dry air after water removal, but quite the opposite – to provide clean drinking water after removing dry air! Philippe passed away in May 2023, after passing on his knowledge, experience, and "baby" to the team. His legacy lives on in the hands and hearts of the team. Luc Métivier, a co-founder, has a broad understanding of how organizations must be developed to achieve and maintain their highest level of efficiency. Harold Ousset, also a co-founder, played a significant role in developing the gPartner startup, now known as Devoteam G Cloud.   🎙️ How can our program help Agua de Sol? We need support to accelerate and offer our low-tech SunAir Fountain panels to anyone who need faces issues with tap water (quality, availability, ...) and even more so to people buying expensive plastic bottled water (containing microplastic, PFAS and sometimes even germs) and which is also a source of pollution/ CO2. We are very happy to be invited by the Cleancities Spain programme and specifically adjust our autonomous atmospheric water panel, for cities. 🌿 Austria is home to 𝟭𝟵𝟯 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁-𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵, according to a recent study by Green Tech Valley . This marks a significant 15 % surge compared to the previous year. More than two thirds of all GreenTech start-ups are based in Styria, Carinthia and Vienna. The newcomers include: 🟢 Graz-based start-up Redeem Solar Technologies, which aims to produce green hydrogen in the future using the chemical process of photocatalysis. 🟢 Innsbruck-based company revitalyze, which has launched a platform for construction companies that aims to make the reuse of building materials more transparent and easier to manage. In addition to updating the start-up list, Green Tech Valley conducted a needs survey among start-ups, which showed that networking with sparring partners from industry is a top priority for 77 % of green start-ups.
