🌊 To celebrate their 5th anniversary, 1000 Ocean Startups member The Ocean Opportunity Lab (TOOL) is launching the 2024 Global 500 List of Female Founders in Ocean & New Energy! The list identifies female founders and changemakers from more than 30 countries! It brings new names onto the radar, showcasing the diversity of the ocean impact innovation ecosystem across the globe and the fundamental role of female leaders in accelerating the blue economy. 🪸 Increasing the size, scale, scope, and inclusivity of the ocean impact innovation ecosystem, including new geographies and underrepresented stakeholders is one of the core objectives of 1000 Ocean Startups. Therefore, we are more than glad to see 1000OS members pioneering meaningful initiatives like this one. 🐠 Committed to this goal is the work of Birgit M. Liodden, TOOL's founder and Co-Lead in the Diversifying Ecosystem Working Group. Led alongside Daniel Kleinman, founder of Seaworthy Collective, the group is dedicated to intentionally democratizing founders’ access to the global ecosystem for scaling their solutions regardless of background. The Global 500 List of Female Founders in Ocean & Energy will be revealed on the 24th of September in an event during Oslo Innovation Week 2024.
