- [Instructor] Before we get into our actual query writing journey, let's take a look at something that is simple, yet powerful, and we should not omit it. What I'm referring to is comments. Comments are a plain or natural language way of describing a query that we have written. And there are two main ways of writing comments. There is a comment line which is written by starting with two dashes, followed by a comment, like this. So whatever follows these two dashes becomes a comment. The other way to write a comment is a comment block by doing a front slash star, then going a couple lines down, then do star front slash. Whatever falls between here becomes a comment. And I can go several lines down and anything falls between these blocks becomes a comment. I don't need to have two dashes as I do in the single line comment.
