Module three: Introduction

- Welcome to module three. In Module three, we describe the capabilities of the Microsoft security solutions. Microsoft offers a range of security solutions that cater to different needs. The Microsoft Defender family provides comprehensive threat protection, detection, and response capabilities for everyone from individuals to the world's largest enterprises. The Microsoft Defender XDR is a unified extended detection and response or XDR solution that offers unrivaled threat intelligence and automated attack disruption of the most sophisticated attacks. While Microsoft Defender for Cloud helps you find weak spots across your cloud configuration, strengthening the overall security posture of your environment, and protecting workloads across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. This helps prevent or protect against evolving threats with XDR capabilities. Microsoft Defender for Business provides enterprise grade endpoint protection that's cost effective and easy to use. Designed especially for small to medium businesses, Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR combine extended detection and response or XDR and security information and event management SIEM capabilities to deliver a unified security operations platform. Microsoft also offers cloud security services that provide solutions for cloud workload protection, data security, frontline workers, identity and network access, identity threat detection and response, industrial and critical infrastructure, as well as information protection and governance. At Microsoft Ignite 2022, we announced five cybersecurity capabilities to help you secure more with less. These capabilities include building in your security from the start, building your trust fabric with flexible and secure access, decreasing insider risk, and preventing sensitive data from being shared, managing securely access platforms and clouds, and protecting app machine speed. So in this module, we are going to discuss within less than seven the core infrastructure and security services in Azure. In lesson eight, we're going to look at security management capabilities of Azure. And then in lesson nine, we'll describe capabilities of Microsoft Sentinel, your SIEM solution. And then in lesson 10, we're going to look at threat protection with Microsoft 365 Defender.
