Describe a web application firewall (WAF)
- Describe core infrastructure security services in Azure. We're going to describe web application firewall, or WAF. The web application firewall, WAF, is a centralized protection for web applications from a common exploits and vulnerabilities. It helps to prevent malicious attacks that exploit commonly known vulnerabilities such as SQL injection and cross site scripting. WAF provides a set of custom and managed rules to control access to web applications. It can be deployed with Azure Application Gateway, Azure Front Door, and Azure Content Delivery Network, or CDN Service from Microsoft. WAF on Azure Front Door is a global and centralized solution that is deployed on Azure network edge locations around the globe. WAF on Azure Front Door is natively integrated with Front Door Premium with full capabilities.
