- Describe the basic identity services and identity types of Azure AD. Here we'll describe the hybrid identity. Hybrid identity is having a common user identity for authentication on authorization, both on premise and in the cloud. Azure Active Directory, or Azure AD, provides a full suite of identity management capabilities, including creating and managing users and groups and enabling permissions to allow and deny access to enterprise resources. Azure AD Connect is a tool that connects your on-premise active directory to Azure ad. Azure AD Connect synchronizes identity information between your on-premise environment and the Azure AD, allowing users to sign in in both environments with the same credentials.
