From the course: Microsoft Power Apps: AI Builder

Microsoft AI: The basics

- [Instructor] The AI Builder is part of the Microsoft Power platform. It's not a separate application like Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents and Power BI, rather it's a component that, right now, can be used with Power Apps and Power Automate. So you use the AI Builder to create a model that adds intelligence to business apps and to your flows. The AI Builder includes prebuilt models for common business AI needs, for example, a business card reader. But it also includes the ability to create custom models that meet your organization's specific requirements and that's where we will focus most of our time in this course. The types of models that you create come in two broad categories. Preview models, which are models that aren't yet ready for you to use in production but you can check them out and create things with them to see if they'll meet your business needs. And the release models have been around for a while and are available for use in production. The release models are also called premium models. Those are small diamond icon that's associated with those. Another distinction is that the preview models are broadly available for anyone to use. You can take it out and kick its tires and see if you like it. But the release models actually require a premium license. We'll talk more about that as we go along. Don't leave me yet, because you can get a free-trial to use both the preview and the release models. As with much of the development that you can do in the Power platform, this is a low-code, no-code environment, but the creation of models in the AI Builder is absolutely no-code. You can create a wide range of AI models without writing a single line of code. So from my point of view, this is very exciting and incredible accessible for business users. You can create the model that you want and your organization needs and either included in an app or let someone else use that model in an application or in a workflow. Let's continue.
