- [Instructor] The Immersive Reader is a Microsoft Word tool that can help you both read and edit your documents. You can customize your experience by changing how the text appears to you. There's also something called Focus Mode to eliminate distractions. Both of these tools are found in the view ribbon tab. I'll start by clicking Focus. What this does is shows a black background, it eliminates the ribbon and only shows your document so that you can focus on just what's important. When you're done with focus mode, hit the escape key on your keyboard and you'll be brought back. Now I'm going to click on Immersive Reader. This is going to open up a special focused view in which you can customize how you look at your document. You can also use this for editing.
