- [Instructor] We are now going to cover the objective: Manufacturing Strategies. Compared to our last two lessons, this will be short, sweet and not too difficult. First, we'll start off with the manufacturing strategies, and there are only three of them, and they're all self-explanatory. The first manufacturing strategy is made to order. In this strategy, a product is produced or created to fill a sales order. This typically applies to standard products. Next, we have make to stock, or MTS. This strategy is used when you need to have several parts to make a product. These products need to be in stock to make that order. And finally, we have configure to order, or CTO. This is exactly what it sounds like. A product is configured according to the sales order. I am going to include engineer to order in this lesson as you may come across it in the exam.
