Cross-functional team advantages

- There are a lot of advantages to running a cross-functional team. You'll have the required expertise to complete your project. Cross-functional teams help you avoid issues that you could be surprised by, they improve buy-in for your project, they help you resolve issues more quickly. Let me share some examples, I was running a project where we were replacing our phones across our entire branch network. We didn't have an internal telephony resource on that team, we didn't have the expertise we needed to run this project. By building a cross-functional team, we got the right telephony people involved. In terms of avoiding issues, we were making some changes to one of our other systems in terms of the offers we made our customers. We didn't have anybody on the team from the call center. That could have been a huge issue. If we didn't have them involved, and we made these changes, we could cause massive issues for our operators in the call center.
