- [Instructor] With certain kinds of data 2 that includes date information, 3 you sometimes need to calculate the quarter. 4 Sometimes it's a chronological quarter, 5 January, February, March, are in the first quarter. 6 Sometimes it's a fiscal quarter and that might be July, 7 August, September is the first quarter. 8 Whereas as in the federal government, 9 October, November, December first quarter. 10 So in calculating this, 11 a couple different ways we could do this. 12 One way is by way of a function called CHOOSE, 13 which we'll be showing you. 14 Also possibly a lookup function like XLOOKUP. 15 No matter which function you choose, 16 and there could be some others we might use 17 like ROUNDUP or INT or EDATE, 18 the most important function 19 is going to be the one called MONTH, =MONTH 20 If I simply use this by itself, what does it mean? 21 What's the month of the date that we see in another cell? 22 And…
