For example, characteristics we will cover include elasticity, self-service, scalability, broad network access, pay-as-you-go, and availability. These characteristics will help you to determine what you want as services when you choose them from a cloud service provider. Elastic services, or elasticity, is when an under-provisioned system or services scaled up or an over-provisioned system or services are scaled down based on demand, meaning you only use what you need.
