- [Instructor] We're going to talk about how we select a VNet gateway SKU for our site-to-site VPN. But in case you're relatively new to the world of Azure networking, I want to start with the answer to the question, "What is a VPN gateway?" Well, a VPN gateway is a type of virtual network gateway. And when you deploy a virtual network gateway, one of the settings is the gateway type, which determines its function and its use. There are actually two types we can choose from: VPN and ExpressRoute. And in fact, when you deploy a VPN gateway with PowerShell, - GatewayType is one of your parameters, and your two options are VPN or ExpressRoute, so it tends to be top of mind. Bear in mind, each virtual network can have only one virtual network gateway of each type. And the virtual network gateway itself is composed of two or more Azure-managed VMs that are automatically deployed and configured for you.
