- [Tutor] The exam may test your knowledge of implementing Azure Extended Network. And this is a feature I think you're unlikely to be able to fully configure and test, so I'm going to talk you through what it is, how it works, the high-level configuration steps with, a bit of demo, so you're fully prepared for exam day. So what is Azure Extended Network? Well, it's a feature that allows you to stretch an on-premises subnet into Azure to keep VMs' original IP addresses, which makes it very useful when migrating machines that cannot have their IP addresses changed. And it supports up to 250 IP addresses to be extended, with an expected throughput of 700 megabits per second. How does it work? Well, it extends the network using a bi-directional VXLAN tunnel between two Windows 2019 or later VMs acting as virtual appliances. One VM runs on-premises, and the other runs in Azure.
