- [Instructor] Now, let's talk about some of the different concepts of data processing. Data processing is all about using computers to manipulate data in ways that make the data much more meaningful and therefore, useful. Most things we do today include data processing, and some examples of data processing include staff payroll, and this is where we need to collect all of the hours worked and then work out how much each member of staff needs to be paid, create pay stubs and then process them. We also send out marketing emails. So here, we process data in terms of figuring out which customer gets which email from a marketing campaign. We also have banking transactions. So here, we are transferring money from one account to the other. We might be sending SMS text messages. So here, we're sending and decrypting an SMS message which involves processing the message and sending it to the correct person's mobile number. And…
