- When I got my wisdom teeth out, I binge-watched America's Next Top Model, like all day long. It started out as mindless television, but then I started paying attention to how Tyra Banks coaches the contestants, and how really subtle changes in their face and body drastically changed the feeling of the picture. And while you might not be posing for Vogue or GQ, your body language and your facial expressions will dramatically impact the feeling of your sales call. These subtle shifts are the difference between awkward and engaged, or assertive verse collaborative. As a bus-dev rep, there are a few key areas you'll want to be mindful of. First things first, your handshake. Breaking someone's hand when you first meet them is not a power move. It's annoying. When you shake hands, you want to be firm, but not aggressive.
