Team Lead - Plastics Operators (Day Shift)

We seek a highly motivated and engaged Team Lead to oversee a small team of plastics operators on a daytime shift. Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of yourself and colleagues in all aspects of work, including the safety features of each workstation.
• Set up and operate machines in various departments.
• Install dies on machines according to work order specifications, using clamps, bolts, and hand tools.
• Set machine controls, regulating molding temperature, volume of plastic, molding pressure, and time, according to knowledge of plastics and molding procedures.
• Load material into machines and remove parts from molds using hand tools as necessary.
• Trim excess flash/material using hand tools or press as necessary.
• Mix thermoplastic materials and coloring pigments in mixing machines according to formula; grind scrap plastic into powder for reuse if needed.
• Document processes and procedures to maintain records.
• Set up auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve equipment in various departments, auxiliary, and secondary operations.
• Inventory, identify, select, and prepare resins for molding.
• Perform equipment maintenance and repairs; maintain and organize tools and equipment.
• Inspect parts for qualification.
• Select molding setup parameters for new tooling.
• Work productively and cooperatively with others while maintaining clear communications.
• Perform quality tests on each product type.
• Perform daily PM’s on tools.
• Serve as a backup for the Supervisor.
• Complete all administrative assignments timely and accurately.
• Perform other duties as required.
