Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Renal Dept Full Time Nights

Fast-paced, high volume Med Surg Renal department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. Fort Worth TX 76104

Work hours: Full Time (7P-7A) for 36 hrs/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Department Highlights

  • Renal Med/surg (28 bed) provides care to a wide variety of Post transplant (kidney) and Med/surg Renal patients who are admitted to this floor for complications after a transplant or their body is rejecting the transplant ie. kidney failure or infections. Our unit population, in addition to post transplant patients, encompasses complex patients with renal diagnosis, both chronic and acute, often with multiple comorbidities, and may be initiating Hemodialysis in our neighboring Hemodialysis unit on the same floor. We also serve the patient population that requires peritoneal dialysis.

Here’s What You Need

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
  • BSN preferred
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS (AHA) prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • CPI training within 90 days of hire
  • 2 years of strong Med/surg or Renal Transplant RN experience in acute care setting including charge/preceptor skills (preferred)

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
