Outdoor Pursuits Lead Attendant

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: North Shore Preserve, set on the Island of Kaua’i, Hawaii

North Shore Preserve is seeking an Outdoor Pursuits Lead Attendant to join the Outdoor Pursuits Department.

The Outdoor Pursuits Lead Attendant will ensure that the highest level of service is offered to the members of our Club by providing the member with personal and professional service throughout the property when pertaining to all outdoor activities. The Outdoor Pursuits Lead Attendant role is very hands-on and encompasses the organization, coordination and planning of the OP program including all on-land, water, racquet sports and Kids Club programming. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

• General
• Follow the Outdoor pursuits standard operating procedure at all times.
• Be on safety cover and lifeguard duties for on-water activities and all sports court and Field of Dreams sports activities.
• Perform duties and tasks throughout the Club as assigned such as but not limited to stocking, cleaning and preparing for members' excursions and activities at all locations.
• Carry out weekly safety checks on the equipment ensuring that all equipment meets SOP guidelines.
• Attend the morning briefing.
• Attend the end-of-day shutdown according to the schedule set out by management.
• Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for Outdoor Pursuits-Communicate effectively with your supervisors and managers.
• Be an ambassador of the property and DLC at all times on or off the property.
• Need to be on time when starting a shift, and prompt with each job assignment.
• Stock Control: Help to implement monthly stock take/inventories of all parts and tools required for the area as advised by OP Manager.
• Other duties as assigned, at all activated areas both on and off property.
• Member Related
• Greeting all members with Aloha.
• Participate in activities and games with members at all locations.
• Facilitating sporting and special events at sports courts and Field of Dreams.
• Seating the members, and moving chairs and umbrellas accordingly.
• Supplying members with towels if necessary.
• Keeping towels and suntan lotion stocked at stations.
• Helping members in and out of the water with water equipment-Insuring the safety of members and children in and around the pools and beach.
• Making bonfires.
• Greeting and parking golf carts at Valet station.
• Tending to members and guests utilizing Outdoor Pursuits areas, ensuring and maximizing their safety and enjoyment at all times.
• Assisting members and guests in all activities at all activated locations when needed.
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in the guest service industry.
• CPR certification is a positive boat captain's license a plus.
• Certificates/qualifications preferred.
• Experience in hospitality is preferred but not required - Ability to work flexible hours and on the weekends.

• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
