Job Summary:
Under general supervision, implement and administer benefits, wellness, and compensation programs. Lead various routine programs related to Benefits and Wellness. Perform a wide variety of tasks required to develop, administer, and execute Total Rewards programs including but not limited to benefits, compensation, wellness, compliance, and onboarding, as well as responding to employee inquiries and concerns related to compensation and benefits. Perform other duties as required.
Core Activities:
Provide guidance and assistance to employee inquiries regarding Total Rewards programs (e.g., benefits, wellness, compensation, etc.)
Process all employee benefits and wellness programs related to new hires, terminations.
Data entry
Educate staff on programs, tools, etc.
Coordinate transactions with Payroll
Identify and resolve HRIS issues with vendor; maintain tables and support system upgrades and implementations.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to compensation, benefits, and employee demographics for improvement in Total Rewards programs.
Generate routine and ad-hoc reports/dashboards to track key metrics such as benefit utilization and wellness participation.
Maintain accurate records of employee compensation and benefits data.
Update and maintain HR policies, processes, and procedures (update intranet, provide feedback for employee handbook, updating SOP’s, etc.).
Remain current with federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits and compensation practices and programs to comply with legal requirements and industry standards.
Communicate Total Rewards policies, programs, and changes to employees through various channels, such as meetings, emails, Zoom, and written materials.
Coordinate with benefits providers to ensure smooth enrollment processes, and resolve any issues or discrepancies (e.g. file feeds, invoice adjustments, etc.)
Lead the logistics of Total Rewards events (e.g., Benefits Open Enrollment, Wellness Clinics, etc.).
Support HR events, as needed (e.g, Recruitment Fairs, All Staff meetings, Division meetings, etc.).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration
Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in benefits and compensation administration
Knowledge of benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives
Exposure to compensation principles, practices, and regulations
Knowledge or exposure to general employment-related state and federal laws and regulations
Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems)
Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Ability to work within and maintain Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Core Values

Hourly Compensation Range:
$28.27- $34.62 per hour. The starting rate will vary based on previous experience and relevant skills/knowledge set.
