Job Description
Behavioral analyst positions are organized by region.
Flexibility preferred for the following shifts:
1st shift = 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
2nd shift = 3:00 pm to 11:30 am
3rd shift = 11:00 pm to 7:30 am
Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health or related field required; BSW or MSW preferred.
This position will be expected to work with youth to employ coping skills and teach youth techniques to calm and/or de-escalate behaviors.
Engage with youth on one-on-one basis to identify strengths and needs as well as identify triggers that tend to escalate youth’s behaviors.
Specialist will work with youth to develop a behavior management plan they can implement independently or with prompting from Specialist or staff.
Identify maladaptive behaviors and teach youth skills to promote adaptive, pro-social behaviors. Specialists will observe behaviors of youth and intervene when initial signs of escalation are identified to avoid intense reaction.
Specialists will assist youth in utilizing identified strategies to return to a calm and regulated state. Specialists will utilize de-escalation skills when youth become agitated and aggressive to defuse the situation If youth continue to escalate,
Specialist will alert on-site security guards to intervene.
