My empathy sky rocketed after becoming a parent but there is no reason you couldn’t adopt this whether you have kids or not. I just now first assume everyone is a parent of new borns and haven’t slept in a year. And just assume positive intent. It’s helped me build and foster incredible business relationships. FWIW.

I track my emotions on a weekly basis. I also like to start each day with a daily journal to reset mindset from the week. And lastly I highly recommend tracking your hours. When reviewing your mood and progress against hours in after the fact can help you craft your future days and weeks better.

I like to make sure there is someone that is incredibly good at 1. selling 2. delivering service/product 3. program and process mgt. Sometimes you need 1 person to play all or some of these roles but these are the core skill strengths needed in building the initial skill sets for an entreprenurial endeavor. but more important than skills is the determination, kindness/physiological safety, and integrity of the team.

I look at every role I interview for as an opportunity to be entrepreneurial. There isn't any role in any company that you couldn't focus on 1. mastering functional skills 2. finding cross pollination opportunities across departments and roles 3. finding new ways to scale and optimize the role, department, or company. At the end of the day the ability to create success in a business and finding opportunities even in a role is valuable to most businesses.

Regular cadenced check in on performance and collecting feedback. There a ton of benefits of being remote but the combat the cons I like to emphasize over communication. Slack. Email. Zoom. And regularly cadenced meetings. The combination of over communication and regular meetings about performance creates a great way to onboard and calibrate remote workers.
