Notes from Faculty Development Program at Woxsen University on Design Thinking. From Most Viable to Most Lovable: The New Frontier in Product Development In today's competitive market, it's no longer sufficient to develop products that are merely viable. The bar has been raised—we must now strive to create products that are not just functional but truly lovable. Why Lovable Products Matter: 1. Customer Loyalty: Lovable products foster emotional connections, leading to stronger customer loyalty and advocacy. 2. Brand Differentiation: In a crowded market, products that delight stand out and build a distinct brand identity. 3. Sustainable Growth: Lovable products drive repeat business and organic growth through word-of-mouth recommendations. Key Strategies to Transition to Lovable Products: 1. Deep Customer Insights: Go beyond surface-level needs to understand the emotional and psychological drivers of your customers. 2. Exceptional Design: Focus on aesthetics and user experience. A product that is a joy to use will naturally become a customer favorite. 3. Continuous Feedback Loop: Actively seek and incorporate customer feedback to refine and enhance the product continuously. 4. Empathy-Driven Innovation: Design with empathy. Consider how your product fits into and enhances the daily lives of your customers. Industry Example: Apple has perfected the art of creating lovable products. Their commitment to design, user experience, and seamless integration has set a benchmark in the industry. People don't just use Apple products—they love them. As we aim to move from viable to lovable, let’s commit to understanding our customers on a deeper level, designing with passion, and constantly iterating to exceed expectations. This approach will not only create delighted customers but also drive sustainable business success. Let's make 2024 the year we prioritize love in product development! ❤️ #ProductDevelopment #Innovation #CustomerExperience #MarketingStrategy #BusinessGrowth #DesignThinking #LovableProducts #Woxsen --- Feel free to connect and share your thoughts on transitioning from viable to lovable products. How are you planning to delight your customers this year?

GITAM Deemed University
Mr Abdulkader Zairbani, a Research Scholar in Strategic Management and International Business, along with Dr Senthil kumar jaya prakash, Associate Professor of Finance, has made a significant contribution to #academicresearch with their latest study titled "Organizational mission statement components: a comparative study between Indian and Singaporean mission statements in the healthcare sector via Python analysis," published in Corporate Communications: An International Journal (Scopus-Q2, ABDC-B, ABS(1) & WOS). This study delves into the essential components of mission statements from healthcare firms in India and Singapore. The findings reveal that while both countries emphasise patients, service, community, quality, and healthcare, Indian firms prioritise quality, affordability, and technology more, whereas Singaporean firms highlight innovation and company value. These insights are crucial for #strategicmanagers aiming to craft impactful mission statements that align with their #organizationalgoals. 🔗 Read the complete study: https://lnkd.in/ganGmaJf Understanding these differences helps formulate strategies that resonate with the core values of each region, ultimately driving better organizational performance. At GITAM, we are committed to fostering a #vibrantresearch culture that empowers our faculty and students to address global challenges and contribute to a sustainable future. What is your Relationship with AI? The Snyder Innovation Management Center at the #WhitmanSchool at Syracuse University thanks Dr. Aric Rindfleisch, who asked the 2024 PDMA - Product Development and Management Association doctoral consortium participants to reflect on their “relationship with AI.” He noted that in the current “knowledge economy,” AI is a tool that can enhance “how” we study by enabling a transition from knowledge creation to knowledge curation. Two great years as Sr Advisor and Visiting Professor in #Sustainability and #TransformationalLeadership at Sasin School of Management have come to a close. I am very grateful for having met outstanding colleagues and impassioned students at Sasin, as well as pioneering entrepreneurs and enlightened corporate leaders at what is a crucial stage of the #sustainabilitytransition in Thailand and Asia. And very grateful for having had Cambridge University Press & Assessment publish my book 'Transforming our Critical Systems' https://lnkd.in/gGb3gv7s. As ‘shapers’ of future leaders, #businessschools play an absolutely critical role in driving the world’s transition to more sustainable and socially just models of growth. Here are my 5 main observations from my experience in academia these last two years: 1. Too many business schools are still lacking solid strategies on how to optimally contribute to this transition. I hope organisations like AACSB, EFMD Global and BSIS will continue to step up their great work of supporting and encouraging business schools to take their responsibility of driving societal impact more seriously. 2. Sustainability and #SocietalImpact should be a firmly integrated part of business schools’ CORE curriculum, rather than taught through add-on electives. Tying remuneration of business school leadership, faculty, and researchers to their contribution to the school’s societal impact objectives is an effective way of embedding sustainability thinking and acting in the organizational culture. 3. To avoid greenwashing, business schools – just as corporates and financial players - should be encouraged to focus more on reporting their REAL societal impact, in addition to objectives and strategies. 4. The purpose of a business school is not to serve the academic tenure of faculty and researchers, but to equip current and future leaders with the mindset, skills and tools to shape a better society. Developing and practicing systems thinking and collaborative skills, including stakeholder empathy and exploration of individual and shared purpose, will facilitate systemic reinvention and societal impact. 5. Collaboration between corporate actors, regulators and civil society is key to achieving the impact and systemic change we need. Business schools are an ideal ‘neutral’ mobiliser of such collaborations for societal good, if they ensure to move beyond talking and drive an action- and impact-oriented agenda. Most business schools still have room for improvement as catalysts for societal impact, but I have also seen many encouraging initiatives. I am optimistic that some of the seeds I planted will help build the momentum. I plan to continue doing my sustainability and systems transformative leadership advisory and executive coaching, as well as occasional teaching in the region, so please reach out if you would like to accelerate your transformation journey!
