Wave City Care is committed to assisting hurting individuals and families in Hampton Roads to meet their basic and immediate needs for food, clothing, and shelter. We accomplish this through our Healthy Living Supplemental Food programs, clothing handouts, and shelter referrals. We offer educational services to help empower people through Tutoring, Mentoring and Life Skills courses.

The Jobs for Life training course is designed to be completed in 16 two-hour classes through a combination of classroom instruction as well as individual and group application activities. Through this training, men and women develop character and become connected to a community of support to help them obtain far more than just a job. They experience life, a life filled with confidence, self-control, coaching, learning, and faith.

Volunteered with providing supplies and services to homeless Veterans, such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings and VA Social Security benefits counseling. Also helped Veterans with receiving referrals such as health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment and mental health counseling.

This was a collaborative events, coordinated between Hampton VA Medical Center, and other government agencies and community-based homeless service providers.

The Seton Youth Shelters Mentoring Children of Prisoners (MCP) program matches a youth, aged 4-18, who has an incarcerated parent, with a trained adult mentor. Mentors and mentees commit to a minimum of one year and meet for a minimum of one hour per week. Mentoring time can be spent doing educational, recreational, or cultural activities.
