I'm working on a new logo for a client. I'm torn between tracking out letters and following what I was taught in school that increasing tracking (the space between all letters in a word or phrase) is played out and should never be done. Not sure this is even accurate! Designers out there, do you ever track out letters in your logos? #graphicdesign #logodesign #freelance #tracking #kerning

Ever feel like your work is just fueling a dumpster fire? You spend hours on Figma creating screens just to learn that your feature got cut! Yikes...! I know the feeling! Am I just working for money? I thought I chose a career where I can make a difference. Where I can solve real user problems. Where my time and efforts are getting recognized and appreciated. Where I'm getting respected! Sometimes business decisions are made that are out of your hands. But the majority of time, your work doesn't make it into the product because of outside circumstances. Most of the time it's because you're not selling them internally. You don't just have to sell yourself when you apply for a job. You need to develop the right communication strategies to make your work be seen. To align your work with the business goals of the company you work for. To make sure everyone is bought in and invested before you spend hours, days, weekends, and sleepless nights on something that just gets cut. The good news is that you can learn those communication strategies. And once you have them, everything changes. You're starting to get respected. People will check with you before making changes. Your confidence and pride for your work will grow. And you'll start to feel totally aligned with your work, customers, business goals and the people you work with. I occasionally hear people complain about how their blog isn't worth continuing anymore because it's not driving traffic and no one is engaging with it. At the basic level, you have to have: 💡 Catchy titles 💡 Visual elements 💡 Skimmable content 💡 1000 words per blog 💡 Strong CTA's that drive users further along their buyer's journey You can have the most engaging content in the world.
