😌 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 😯 Could we be saying goodbye to the 150 hour CPA requirement? What positives would a year in the field bring? Working in the field would allow candidates to apply what they’ve learned, in real-world scenarios, reinforcing their knowledge and skills in accounting and finance for the exam. It would allow candidates to foster connections with industry professionals, which can lead to mentorship and job opportunities post-exam. Candidates would get hands-on experience which would help in understanding industry practices, regulations, and challenges that they might not encounter in a classroom setting. Working in the field helps candidates develop soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are essential for success in any accounting role. It would boost candidates' confidence in their abilities, making them more effective and assured when they take the CPA exam. This potential change could be very positive for future CPA candidates! ✨ Very mindful, very demure ✨

"It's an Election Year" – a phrase I hear weekly from industry leaders when discussing the economic outlook for 2024 and their plans for 2025. There’s a sense of trepidation about what’s to come, as seasoned leaders know the election could dramatically impact business. As we approach the upcoming election, there’s a noticeable shift in what’s weighing most heavily on the minds of CFOs. Unlike in 2016 and 2020, when Deloitte found that CFOs were primarily concerned with tax policy, workforce issues have now taken center stage. A third of CFOs believe workforce challenges should be the top priority for the federal government. However, corporate taxes remain a key concern. Alongside workforce challenges, CFOs are keeping a close eye on geopolitics and the economic environment, with trade policy and tariffs following as major areas of focus. What do you think? Accounting & Finance leaders need more support than ever. In my 14 years in the search and staffing sector for accounting and finance, I've noticed a troubling trend: burnout among middle management and senior leadership. As someone who often works long hours, I've found that taking short 10–15-minute walks 3-4 times daily has been life-changing.
