How can you test your product-market fit with a minimum viable product?
The first step in creating an MVP is not to worry about the product but rather what you want to measure from the experiment. How would you define success? What are you looking to test? What variables need to be addressed? From there, I reverse engineer the least expensive, fastest way to create something. In one case, I created an MVP by simply taking a deck of playing cards and writing things on each card. It was sufficient to test my hypotheses. From there, I reevaluated what I wanted to measure and created a more sophisticated version. This time, I did a very small print run of the product with a local printer. Eventually, I contracted to have 50,000 produced once I tested the earlier iterations.

How do you get more consulting clients from your network?
Nothing worse than someone trying to sell you on LinkedIn before you have established a relationship. In fact, I never sell. Ever. My goal is to add as much value to my network as possible. I offer copies of my books. I post articles that may help a company. I recommend the books and works of other people. My goal is to be a valuable resource. Period. If this leads to work, that's awesome. But it is not my goal.

How do you keep your online content fresh?
Updating old content is one of the strategies I am currently using. Back in 2001, I published a book with 40 different ways to out-innovate the competition. I am getting ready to relaunch that book later this month. For the 40 days leading up to the relaunch, I have been posting a brief summary of each tip. Two months of content are pretty much already created. All I need to do is update, condense, and create a small infographic for each.

Check out my latest Forbes article, "The Slow Death Of The Creative Spirit: How Micromanagement Undermines Engagement, Innovation And Organizational Performance." Imagine having a crystal ball that could reveal the accuracy of past predictions🔮 While I don’t make predictions per se about the #future, I dove into the archives from two decades ago. 💡 It’s like opening a time capsule of ideas - ideas with no expiration date. 👁️ This retrospective analysis isn’t about patting ourselves on the back for correct guesses. It’s a valuable way to help understand how we perceive and anticipate change. So…I unearthed this gem from 2004: “We are moving into the coming Conceptual Age. This is not to say that all left-brain thinking should be discarded; reason, logic and number crunching will still be necessary. But much of that work is going onto software and can be outsourced.
