I've hired hundreds of devs in my career - I still sit on dev interviews today. The easiest way to bag that £100K job is to improve your "coachability". Coachability means being able to "take it". Take the feedback from your team, you might think your code is the best, but it probably isn't, you might think you nailed what the customer wants, but you probably didn't. See great devs work with everyone, they iterate ideas, they stay approachable, they consider new ways, they listen....they are coachable. When you are coachable, people work with you more, you work on bigger projects, you do better stuff, and you bag that £100K job. #developer #coding #startups #dev #fullstack

This is something I really want to celebrate! Both the outcome with a seriously improved, modern and great looking new app, as well as the people who made it happen! It’s been a truly massive undertaking during which many teams and individuals have been put to the test. I’m immensely proud of our teams and how everyone has stepped up and delivered time and time again during this journey. I have two main takeaways from this project: 1. Always strive to make sure everyone involved understands the why. Deep understanding of the desired result from a particular change enables many more brain cells to think through the implications, potential problems and opportunities. Even the most brilliant minds will have trouble understanding every aspect, implication, or even opportunity stemming from a change or introduction of something new. 2. Technical architecture needs to be an integral part of the change process in any project of this size. I firmly believe that we would not have succeeded in delivering a successful outcome at the speed at which this was delivered without a very well thought out technical architecture that support such a high pace of change while still also supporting consistency and stability across the experience. To everyone involved in this project: Thank you! I feel privileged to be working with so many brilliant minds.

I've seen clients waste millions on overcomplicated software before partnering with MEV. It can be hard to recognize wasted spending when you're in the middle of a process, too. We had a client who was facing this scenario: • A $2 million system, bloated with features • Complex workflows no one needed • Unfriendly user interface What did they really need? Much simpler requirements. The truth hit hard when we stepped in. We stripped it down. Focused on the essentials. Delivered a solution at a fraction of the cost – just $100,000. The result? A system that did exactly what was needed. Quick, efficient, and without the unnecessary frills. The lesson was clear: Saying "no" to good ideas can be tough. But understanding and focusing on what truly matters saves money, effort, and time.
