Appointed in May 2015 by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan to serve as one of 13 members of the Commission on Aging. Named Chairperson in September 2016. Chaired 2016 Symposium for State and Local Commissions on Aging that focused on "Translating Healthy Aging Research Findings into Practice" and featured prominent researchers from institutions in Maryland, including Johns Hopkins University, the University of Maryland, and the National Institute on Aging, National Institutes of Health.

The purpose of the Advisory Group is to ensure that the County Executive is well informed about and able to act effectively to respond to the needs and concerns of Asian Americans living and/or working in Montgomery County, including but not limited to advice regarding policy initiatives, budget priorities, economic and other partnership opportunities, and implementaiton of programs.
