Over winter break of my junior year in college (January 2019), I traveled to the Darién region of Panama with 30 other Mays Business School students to provide consulting services to local entrepreneurs.

My team, composed of 5 students, worked with a company called “Jumara Juwa” (with all our hands) which aimed to spread local culture and tradition through the making of handcrafts. Over our time there, we taught lessons on budgeting and inventory management and ended up assisting the owners in developing these competencies as well as performed a full financial audit and modernized their marketing practices.

Because of this project, I became more fluent in Spanish, and got to apply all the skills Texas A&M has taught me so far. Check out Jumara Juwa on Facebook to see their updates!
