The home office building combines residential and commercial space in a new way. The premise is that work life and personal life are becoming increasingly intermixed and smart phones and other digital devices are allowing people to work from anywhere, but the built environment has not addressed this situation.
As communication technology improves, people have less of a need to be face to face in a traditional office setting. They can save time, money and valuable natural resources by working from home and going into the office less often. More focus needs to be placed on the development of the home office as an integral part of 21st century residential design.
