Sometimes we need to reflect what the Apollo program offered everyone now in aerospace besides the technology spinoffs and a surplus of cash in the industry for those challenging years. For example, it organized the existing military communications systems at various ranges and established a world-wide spacecraft tracking network infrastructure that we continue to enjoy to this day. Many aerospace companies were involved to create the best-in-class ground network and communications to relay both data and voice on which it was a lot easier to build upon and continue to upgrade to the systems currently in use both for Near Earth and Deep Space communications. Today, we have fostered a government-private sector relationship that has made every single dollar within NASA's annual budget impact more than before.
