Four years on, progress toward implementing of FERC Order Number 2222 — the “enabling” policy for distributed power plants — leaves a lot to be desired. Fortunately, addressing that problem is something that we can all get behind.

The U.S Department of Energy released a new roadmap outlining solutions today to speed up the interconnection of clean energy onto the nation's transmission grid and clear the existing backlog of solar, wind, and battery projects seeking to be built. DOE's Grid Deployment Office invests in accelerating interconnection of clean energy generation through the $5 billion Grid Innovation Program, which supports deployment of projects that use innovative approaches to enhance grid resilience and reliability. Through the Title 17 Clean Energy Financing Program, the Loan Programs Office seeks to finance energy infrastructure projects, including transmission infrastructure investments to support transmission interconnection, reconductoring transmission lines, and upgrading voltage. #gridmodernization #cleanenergytransition #renewable https://lnkd.in/d_RQdJSX

Proposed implementation of on-site natural gas power generation for a Virginia Data Center Project. Project overview link below. I have large blocks of acreage with extensive natural gas reserves across North Central Pennsylvania. Approximately 35,000 acres rich in Marcellus and Utica shale, providing a reliable and abundant source of natural gas for in site data center power generation needs. This approach eliminates the need for third-party natural gas transmission pipelines, as data centers can directly access and manage their own supply of natural gas reserves, drilling wells on-site. This not only enhances energy security but also allows for greater flexibility and efficiency in power generation. Our large blocks of acreage have the potential to deliver a total capacity of 1.475 GW, supporting the energy needs of multiple data centers while enabling carbon sequestration initiatives. This capability positions the data centers to achieve a zero carbon footprint, aligning with modern sustainability goals. I anticipate a 24-month timeline to establish the natural gas power generation facility, ensuring a timely and effective solution for Data Center energy demands. https://lnkd.in/eBSiiT8J
