Since its founding in 1969, Breakthru House’s founding principle has remained constant: Physical, emotional and spiritual healing through recovery is possible when each woman’s treatment program is designed to meet her individual needs. Utilizing the 12 Steps and a readymade therapeutic community, Breakthru House provides a safe, structured drug-free environment to foster a life of recovery. In therapy sessions, addiction is addressed as a disease because of the unresolved grief, trauma and poor self-esteem issues commonly associated with female addicts.
As Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Harrison was responsible setting the strategic vision of the organization, driving growth and holding the Executive Director accountable. -

•Increase awareness and knowledge of the bidirectional relationship between health and the criminal justice system
•Serve as a fund of knowledge, education and training for local, state and national health and justice systems
•Lobby for criminal justice reform surrounding our core issues
